U.S. Tariffs
KYC Sports U.S. Import Tariff Policy
Effective Date: March 4, 2025
Last Updated: October 16, 2025
Overview
KYC Sports Ltd. is committed to providing high-performance equipment at fair and competitive prices. To maintain transparency with our U.S. customers, this policy clarifies the responsibilities related to import duties, tariffs, and customs fees when shipping products from Canada to the United States.
While KYC Sports Ltd. does not cover import duties or tariffs, we have taken every possible step to ensure that the correct product classifications and taxes are in place so that the end customer is not impacted more than necessary. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and affordable as possible within the limits of U.S. customs regulations.
Tariff Responsibility
As of March 4, 2025, a 25% tariff may apply to certain sporting goods imported from Canada into the United States. These tariffs are imposed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and are the sole responsibility of the importer of record (the buyer).
KYC Sports Ltd. is not liable for any tariffs, import duties, brokerage, or customs fees associated with U.S. imports. These charges are determined and collected by U.S. Customs and/or the shipping carrier at the time of entry.
Who is Liable for Tariffs?
Individual Customers (Retail Orders):
If you purchase products from KYC Sports for delivery to the U.S., you are considered the importer of record. You are responsible for paying any applicable duties or tariffs at the time of delivery or as required by CBP.
Team Orders & Bulk Purchases:
Teams, organizations, or institutions shipping to the U.S. are likewise the importers of record. Any customs, tariff, or brokerage fees assessed will be the responsibility of the purchasing entity.
Dealers & Resellers:
Dealers and resellers importing KYC Sports products for resale within the U.S. are responsible for handling all import-related fees and documentation.
Customs Clearance & Payment
U.S. Customs may require tariff payments before releasing a shipment. The carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx, or USPS/Canada Post) will usually contact the recipient regarding any outstanding duties or brokerage fees.
Failure to pay these charges may result in:
Delayed delivery
Return to sender
Additional return or storage fees
These costs will remain the responsibility of the customer.
Minimizing Tariff Impact
We understand that cross-border fees can be frustrating. KYC Sports Ltd. works proactively to:
Classify products correctly under U.S. tariff codes to ensure the lowest possible duty rate.
Use USMCA-compliant materials and documentation whenever applicable.
Partner with carriers that offer transparent customs brokerage and up-front duty calculations to prevent surprise costs.
While we cannot eliminate tariffs, these measures help reduce the financial burden for our customers.
Exemptions & Alternatives
If you have a U.S.-based address, business partner, or freight forwarder, you may explore consolidated shipping options to help reduce tariff exposure.
Some products may fall under alternative tariff classifications with lower rates. We recommend consulting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or a licensed customs broker for guidance.
Agreement to Terms
By placing an order with KYC Sports Ltd. for delivery to the United States, you acknowledge and agree to this tariff policy.
KYC Sports Ltd. is not responsible for any tariff-related costs, and failure to pay such charges will not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.
